On more than one occasion whole attacks were stopped by the blistering winds and the decreased visibility that comes with them, with both sides waiting for the weather to change before proceeding. Troops stranded out in the cold can freeze and die, and must be positioned near fires or in buildings to ensure survival. On certain, snow-white maps, play is interrupted by game changing storms that can halt an army in its tracks. It means managing your units carefully as they navigate the maps, making sure they take the optimum route to their destination.

There's ice rivers that can be damaged and will crack - potentially sending vehicles into deadly water, and deep snow that can slow troop movement to a crawl. Perhaps the stand-out feature of the game is the weather conditions, and these greatly impact play, in more ways than one. Tanks will overrun your positions, and before you know what's happened, the end is nigh. When they do, unless you've stocked up on the relevant anti-tank weaponry, it's game over. This is significant because tanks change everything, and currently it doesn't feel like there's enough time to make use of your infantry before the hulking behemoths roll onto the battlefield. The early game feels much shorter than it is in the original, with tanks rolling into combat much sooner than you'd expect. Played in this vain, CoH2 is already entertaining. As with all games, playing against a similarly skilled opponent is the key to having fun. We're both relative novices, and still getting to grips with the game's basics, but when played against each other, things became much more enjoyable. It wasn't just me that was having trouble with the pesky AI, when co-oping against two computer-controlled forces we were both totally overwhelmed within minutes. We were both learning the ropes, and as such it was a much more forgiving experience. This should be enough to get you up-and-running with a viewable play area.Against another human player I fare a little better, even after several games. You need to enter the name and description in the Scenario Properties dialog under the Scenario Menu. The file name is not used for the displayed name. Also, you will want to give your map a name. The starting points and entry points, which are in close proximity to one another, should have matching player assignments. Place the entry points at the edge of the map near the starting points and assign one point to each player. The map entry points are located under - ebps\gameplay\map_entry_point. You will also need to place two (2) map entry point objects.

Place the objects away from each other, select each in turn and click the dropdown for Player assignment. One starting position must be player 1, and one must be player 2. If you want to see a map in the game, you need to at least have two (2) starting_position objects placed (see Object Placement) The starting positions are located under - ebps\gameplay\starting_position_sp. Make sure that all objects placed are within the playable area (To view this - Overlay > Toggle Playable Area), otherwise the 'CurrentPlayer' option will not be available. I would advise leaving the DefaultPlayer assignment to World, what you need to do is select all of the above objects for each separate starting location and change their CurrentPlayer assignment to " Player X", X starting with Player 1 for the first starting location, Player 2 for your second starting location, and so on until you have assigned each starting location its own player. On your right panel there are two places for Player Assignment, Default and Current.

There are three key items you will need for each players starting location:ġ.) ebps\gameplay\starting_position This is your starting HQ 2.) ebps\gameplay\map_entry_point This is the players map entry point - The point at which reinforcement type abilities will have units enter the map on (Like the Allied Off-Map Combat Group or Axis Stormtrooper abilities) 3.) ebps\gameplay\bunker_marker These will be your players starting defenses, once placed you can select it then hold Shift as you Click and Drag to point the arrow in the direction you want the defenses facing.įor each of these items you will want to select the item and observe the ' Player Assignment' of that item. On this list you will find everything from brushes and trees, to statues and buildings. Click on that button to open up the EBPS list. Hovering over this button should give you the " Object Placement" helptext. On your World Builder toolbar there should be a small button depicting a tree with a man beside it holding what looks like a green flag.
